How can you help sweep suffering away?
Take some time today to consider your participation in the ‘Four T’ strategy to help provide relief to the needy.
Give your time
TUF believes that our time is our life and we have seen how spending time helping others can leave you feeling as if you have more time, not less. This is why we make it easy for you to give of your time in whatever way is best for you.
Time-givers come mainly from communities – these individuals have realised the greatest gift we can give someone is our time, because you can never get it back.
- Sorting clothing, household items, food and furniture, ironing, mending or washing
- Spending a day helping to deliver donated items and seeing people’s lives change
- Collecting good quality items given away by local shops, hotels etc.
- Being a collection point in the local area for items given to those in need
Give your Talents
God created us with a great variety of talents. You may be able to run a marathon, organise a group meeting, teach or write. Your skill may be typing, photography, painting or perhaps you sing or play a musical instrument. Each of us has a unique function to perform in this life, make use of your talents by giving back.
TUF can assist you in putting your talents to work for people who need them.
Give your Treasure
TUF enables you to give money to something that concerns you and ensures that 100% of what your give will go to that need. There is a vast amount of good work that can be done through charitable giving.
Projects funded through TUF are always long-term, of a capital nature, and aim to permanently improve the quality of life of a community. The nature of a project, provided that it falls within these parameters, can be matched with anyone in need: the physically or mentally afflicted, prisoners, children, addicts, the poor or starving, long-term refugees, the sick or the homeless.
TUF wants to provide a service for those individuals or corporates who desire to give but often lack the information to give effectively.
Give YOUR Things
Part of your giving is from the things your have been blessed with – many in this world are not as blessed and could benefit from your generosity. Consider donating items that are a part of your home that could be put to better use:
Benefits to you
- You will build a relationship with those you help
- You will have a sense of accountability
- You are able to see how your gifts have contributed to the livelihood of those you help
The benefits to you are multifaceted – you not only have the gratification of doing good but also the fulfilment of seeing what your gift has accomplished.
